Catalans reveal squad numbers

Catalans Dragons have revealed what their squad will look like for the new season, with the new squad numbers.

David Mead will take the number one shirt, to replace the outgoing Tony Gigot and Lewis Tierney swaps wings to take the number two shirt.

Samisoni Langi also switches from the halves to the centres by taking the number three shirt.

The halves will see a new first choice combination as NRL recruit James Maloney takes the number six and Josh Drinkwater takes the seven shirt after re-signing from Hull KR.

There is also a new first choice second row as Matt Whitley is promoted to the number 11 shirt, while new recruit Joel Tomkins wears number 12.

The first 13 is rounded off by Ben Garcia while new winger Tom Davies will wear 16.

Two numbers have been left unassigned. Whether they will be filled by young players or new signings is not clear just yet.

Dragons Head Coach Steve McNamara told the club website: “We are happy of the squad we have assembled for 2020. The four new players will add real quality to the group and with the recent adjustments and changes to our academy program, we are confident that some of our younger players will add depth when needed.”
