Catalans put training on hold as they await Covid-19 tests

Catalans have confirmed they have postponed training sessions until all players and staff have been tested for Covid-19.

The Dragons were set to be the first club to resume training after the coronavirus suspension, revealing last week that players were due to return to the field today (Monday).

Those plans have now been put on hold, however, until all staff members, both playing and non-playing, have been tested for the virus.

The results will then be sent to the RFL and only then will the Dragons allow training to go ahead.

In a statement, the club said: “The players, who should have returned to the training this morning, will have to wait until Friday to take part into a collective training session on the Gilbert Brutus pitch.”
