Catalans give former forward new deal

Forward Jordan Dezaria has been given a full-time contract with Catalans Dragons and joins the professional squad with immediate effect.

The French forward has been rewarded for his performances with the Dragons’ reserve team.

Dezaria, 24, originally joined the club Academy in 2015. He made his Super League debut in 2016 and made four appearances in 2017 before leaving the club to play with Leigh and then Toulouse.

He came back to the club last year, joining the reserve team and will wear the number 30.

Dezaria said: “I’m really happy to sign this full-time contract. It was one of my goals when I decided to come back to the club. I’ve worked really hard.

“I would also like to thank the reserve team staff Justin Murphy, Greg Bird and Mathias Pala who have helped me to achieve this.”

Head Coach Steve McNamara added: “Jordan returned to our club through our reserve grade system after asking for an opportunity.

“He has applied himself superbly and has earned a full time contract. He is a big powerful player with lots of ability and potential. He adds more depth to our squad.”
