Catalans Dragons v St Helens team news as Paul Wellens makes one change

St Helens

St Helens head coach Paul Wellens has made one change to his squad for this week’s trip to Catalans Dragons. The Saints have lost their last two Super League games and they travel to the south of France determined to get back to winning ways.

Catalans, on the other hand, have won their last two, with wins coming over Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers and they’ll be looking to build on those by claiming another big scalp at the Stade Gilbert Brutus.

Daryl Clark picked up a hip injury last time out against Warrington Wolves and was considered to be a doubt earlier in the week. However, the hooker has trained this week and will hope to be involved against Catalans.

Joe Batchelor is also included for Saints, with the back-rower missing the clash with the Wolves due to a head knock. However, there’s no Curtis Sironen, with the forward dropping out of the squad to take on the Dragons.

Catalans have made three changes with Romain Navarrete, Fouad Yaha and Clement Martin dropping out of the fold. However, Tommy Makinson is fit enough to be involved against his former club for the first time and he’ll no doubt be starting on the wing.

Theo Fages is also in contention to take on his former club, while Bayley Sironen comes into Steve McNamara’s fold, too.

Catalans Dragons: Sam Tomkins, Tommy Makinson, Arthur Romano, Reimis Smith, Nick Cotric, Luke Keary, Tevita Pangai Jr, Benjamin Garcia, Julian Bousquet, Elliott Whitehead, Oliver Partington, Alrix Da Costa, Chris Satae, Bayley Sironen, Cesar Rouge, Paul Seguier, Jordan Dezaria, Theo Fages, Matthieu Laguerre, Franck Maria, Guillermo Aispuro-Bichet.
