Catalans Dragons have been doing it tough with injuries in 2022.
The likes of Julian Bousquet and Mike McMeeken have suffered broken bones whilst those such as Dean Whare and Samisoni Langi have spent an extended amount of time on the sidelines.
And, to make matters worse for the French side, two more players will be set for a long time out of the game after picking up injuries in France’s international fixture against Wales at the weekend.
Both Arhur Mourgue and Jordan Dezaria had to leave the field after taking big knocks, with both undergoing scans earlier this week in order to determine the prognosis.
Fullback and livewire Mourgue has suffered a ligament injury in his right ankle and will be out for four to six weeks, whilst Dezaria is set to see a specialist in Montpellier tonight.
The prop forward will then undergo surgery tomorrow morning to repair a fracture in his left foot after being on crutches following the game against Wales at the weekend.
Only then will a timeframe be given for the length of recovery.
It’s a huge blow for the Dragons who go up against Castleford Tigers this Sunday at the Jungle following the international break.
