Catalans Dragons’ star-studded line-up for 2023 including two signings yet to be announced

Catalans Dragons have made some big signings for the 2023 season and have more signings yet to be announced.

Here is how they could line-up in 2023.

Fullback: Sam Tomkins
England skipper and Man of Steel as recently as 2021, Sam Tomkins is still one of the best fullbacks in Super League. The Dragons also have Arthur Mourgue, but for now Tomkins will stay at one.

Wingers: Tom Davies and Tom Johnstone
Fouad Yaha’s injury will give former Wakefield Trinity winger Tom Johnstone the chance to nail down a spot on the wing. When fit, he is one of the league’s best wingers and a great finisher. He has also trained at fullback and at centre in pre-season however. He will be joined by Tom Davies who scored more tries than anyone over the course of 2020 and 2021. He is a great metre maker too.

Centres: Adam Keighran and New Signing
The Dragons are still chasing a new centre for 2023 after letting go of Samisoni Langi and Dean Whare. They have missed out on Featherstone Rovers’ Joey Leilua and have been linked with the likes of Steven Marsters. This new signing will join another new arrival in the shape of Adam Keighran from Sydney Roosters. Meanwhile, Matthieu Laguerre is an option there.

Halfbacks: Tyrone May and Mitchell Pearce
The halfback pairing Catalans Dragons finished the season with, these two could provide Catalans with a better balance allowing Pearce to do the job he did in the NRL as a playmaker and allowing May to be creative.

Props: Siosiua Taukeiaho and Julian Bousquet
The Dragons may have lost Gil Dudson but former Sydney Roosters prop and Tonga World Cup star Siosiua Taukeiaho is the ideal replacement. He will be joined by the experienced Julian Bousquet.

Hooker: Michael McIlorum
In 2022, Michael McIlorum was back to his best and earnt a call up to the England squad. The Dragons also have Alrix Da Costa who could feature there.

Second-Rowers: Matt Whiteley and Mike McMeeken
Mike McMeeken may start the season injured but when he returns the Dragons will have one of the best backrows in Super League. Whiteley after all is one of the most underrated players in the league.

Loose-Forward: Ben Garcia
A great hard working loose-forward, he is a great leader and skipper. He has replaced Remi Casty magnificently in the leadership role.

Substitutes: Arthur Mourgue, Jordan Dezaria, Mickael Goudemand and New Signing
The Dragons are also chasing a new prop after the release of Dylan Napa. They tried and failed to sign former Warrington Wolves and Salford Red Devils prop Ben Murdoch-Masila. This signing will help replace Sam Kasiano and will be joined by reliable forwards Jordan Dezaria and Mickael Goudemand. Arthur Mourgue will provide impact from the bench.
