Catalans Dragons promised earlier today that they would be delivering the “best 2023 Super League signing” and then delivered the arrival of Adam Keighran.

The former Sydney Roosters man is a versatile player capable of playing the halves or at centre which are both roles the Dragons need to recruit in after Josh Drinkwater’s move to Warrington Wolves and the fact the club have allowed Samisoni Langi and Dean Whare to leave the club ahead of next season.

The 25-year-old, about to hit his prime years, is a major coup for the Dragons but why was the NRL star tempted to Perpignan and Super League as the Dragons enjoy something of a rebuild after the slipped to fourth after they won an inaugural League Leaders’ Shield in 2021.

Well, Keighran has explained the move talking after the move.

“I’m really grateful for the opportunity given to me by Catalans,” he said, “I’ve always wanted to experience Super League throughout my career and my family and I are really excited to experience it in France.”

So it has been a long time ambition for the former Rooster.

He is also bagging the Dragons for success and believes they will help to develop his game: “Catalans is a very competitive team in this competition and I am really looking forward to being a part of it. I feel like this opportunity will allow me to take my game to the next level and that is something I’m really looking forward to.”
