Mike McMeeken has been a revelation in the south of France since making the move ahead of the 2021 season.
The London-born second-rower was in instrumental form as the Catalans Dragons made it all the way to the Super League Grand Final, only to be narrowly beaten 12-10 by St Helens.
McMeeken signed a two-year deal back in December 2020, meaning he is out of contract at the end of next season and he is open minded about what the future holds.
“I’m still contracted up until the end of 2022 so what happens after then I’m not sure,” McMeeken told The Rugby League Review Podcast.
“We’re obviously open-minded, it’s just the way it is.
“We’re enjoying life over here, I’m certainly enjoying my rugby over here, so we will just take it season by season.”
The 27-year-old began his rugby league career with the London Broncos after beginning his sporting career in the 15-a-side code.
A move to Castleford at the end of 2014 set the ball rolling for McMeeken to thrive and he earned two England caps whilst at the Tigers in 2017.
The hulking forward then had relatively quiet seasons after that as the Tigers tailed off in the last few years of Daryl Powell’s tenure at the club – which was enough to convince McMeeken to change clubs and culture.
