Catalans Dragons sack three players with immediate effect

Catalans Dragons

Catalans Dragons have shared a short statement confirming that they have terminated the contracts of three players after actions that they have labelled “contrary to the club’s values”.

A short statement released by the club read as follows:

“Following a disciplinary process, the Catalans Dragons have decided to terminate the contracts of three of their Players with immediate effect. The players concerned are Siua Taukeiaho, Jayden Nikorima and Damel Diakhate.

“All Players were involved in an incident deemed to be highly unacceptable by the Club and contrary to the Club’s values.”

It’s unclear so far what the incident involving the trio is but it’s prompted swift and decisive action from the club with the termination of all three players’ contract.

Siua Taukeiaho was due to be off-contract at the end of the season and has long been linked with a move to Canterbury Bulldogs, however, both Jayden Nikorima and Damel Diakhate were recruited ahead of the 2024 season but have had their contracts cut short following this incident.

The Dragons face off against Salford Red Devils tomorrow at the Stade Gilbert Brutus but will now clearly be without all three players for the clash between fifth and sixth place in Super League.

Recently, it’s been reported that they will sign NRL playmaker Luke Keary and they have already announced the signing of Canberra Raiders winger Nick Cotric.
