Catalans Dragons have announced the signing of a current NRL playmaker for the 2027 season.
Tyson Gamble will swap Newcastle Knights for Perpignan, after agreeing a two-year deal to join the club.
Able to play in the halves or at loose forward, the 30-year-old could be the replacement for Toby Sexton, who will depart the south of France to join Perth Bears for their inaugural season in 2027.
Gamble made his NRL debut for Wests Tigers in 2018, before Brisbane Broncos snapped him up for the 2020 season.
After three seasons at Suncorp, he joined the Knights ahead of the 2023 season, but has found game time hard to come by over the past two seasons. Overall, he has made 70 NRL appearances, but just seven of those have come in the last two years.
Whilst his future isn’t yet confirmed, should John Cartwright stay on as head coach beyond this year, the pair will be reuniting after working together at Brisbane. Gamble also knows fellow new recruit Jesse Arthars from his time at the Broncos.

Commenting on the move, Gamble said: “I’m so excited to pull the Catalan Dragons jersey on for the next two seasons. I’m grateful to the club for this opportunity, and I hope I can do them and the fans proud!”
Boss Cartwright added: “Tyson is another player I have worked with in the past. [He’s] a super competitive player. Brings the same attitude to training. Brings experience, a good kicking game, and is a strong defender. [He] will be a great addition to the squad.”
