Catalans Dragons have today confirmed the eight players that will be departing the club following the conclusions of their contracts.
It had already been confirmed that Micky McIlorum, Tom Davies, Mike McMeeken and Tom Johnstone would be departing the club, but four other players have now been confirmed to be leaving.
Micky McIlorum is heading to Hull KR, replacing the retiring Matt Parcell, and will be competing with Jez Litten for the starting number nine shirt. He made over 100 appearances for the Dragons in seven seasons at Stade Gilbert Brutus.
Meanwhile, Tom Davies will be joining him at Craven Park – with Ryan Hall heading to Leeds Rhinos, freeing up a spot on the wing.
Tom Johnstone, another winger, is returning to Wakefield Trinity after just two seasons away, and will be joined by teammate Mike McMeeken, who will be reunited with head coach Daryl Powell after the two worked together at Castleford Tigers.
Catalans Dragons confirm four new exits including NRL signings
Matt Ikuvalu leaves after a season-and-a-half in Perpignan, after signing from Cronulla Sharks in 2023, leaving space in the centres.
Manu Ma’u didn’t manage to play a single game this season due to injury, and the 36-year-old may not play another Super League game. Originlly with Parramatta Eels under Brad Arthur, he joined Hull FC in 2020 before heading to France in 2023.
Jordan Abdull has been a starting half-back this season while on loan from Hull KR, but he won’t be wearing Catalan colours next year, with Luke Keary lined up to take his place.
Finally, Jarrod Wallace, after just five Super League appearances, has also been confirmed to be leaving. He was only signed from Wayne Bennett’s Dolphins side in July, and his original contract – until the end of 2024 – will not be extended, making it a short-stay in Catalonia.
