Catalans Dragons have confirmed a big blow to one of their main playmakers following last weekend’s Super League fixture.
The French side were hosted by Hull FC at the MKM Stadium, but suffered a huge injury blow to halfback Josh Drinkwater.
The Dragons have since released a damning statement from the club concerning his injury concern, saying: “Josh Drinkwater underwent scans to determine the extent of his injury after leaving the field during the Super League game at Hull FC on Sunday night.
“Scans have shown he partially ruptured a tendon in his foot.
“He will be unavailable for an estimated eight weeks.”
It’s a huge blow for Steve McNamara’s side who will be at the Stade Gilbert Brutus this Friday night for the visit of the Castleford Tigers.
Drinkwater will join the injury list that includes Sam Tomkins, Mike McMeeken, Samisoni Langi and Dean Whare, though Jordan Dezaria does return.
