Catalan back out for the season

Catalan Dragons have confirmed that David Mead will miss the rest of the season with a double facial fracture.

The Papua New Guinea international left the field at half time during the Dragons’ game with Hull KR on Saturday after sustaining the injury.

Further scans have shown that he suffered a fracture on the base of his eye socket, as well as a smaller fracture in his cheekbone.

Mead will not require surgery but will miss the final two games of the season.
