Catalans have appointed veteran forward Remi Casty as their captain once again in 2020.

Casty has made almost 300 appearances for the Dragons, and also helped them to their first major trophy in 2018, when they won the Challenge Cup.

It will be Casty’s eighth season captaining the club. He previously held the role in 2012 and 2013 and since his return from Sydney Roosters in 2015.

I’m really proud to be the captain of the team in 2020, said the French prop. It’s a huge honour to represent the club.

2020 will be an exciting Super League season and I’m looking forward to it.

I’ll continue to give 100% for my team mates, my team, my club and our fans who will be this season again behind us.

Head Coach Steve McNamara added:  “Remi’s captaincy is just a natural continuation for me. He has the benefit of having some outstanding leaders standing alongside him this year and he can focus on leading by example on the field.”
