Castleford v Wigan: 21-man squads, injury update and TV details

Two teams inside the top six meet on Monday in a game that could be vital to both side’s ambitions of playing play-off rugby this season.

The Tigers have won their last four on the bounce including an impressive win away at Hull FC on Thursday. They have already beaten two former Super League Champions in recent weeks and will be hoping to topple another in the shape of Wigan.

As for the Warriors, it’s been over 200 in-game minutes since Wigan scored a try. If they want to beat Castleford and cement their place inside the top six, that’s going to have to change if they want to beat the Tigers on Monday.

The game kicks off at 17:00 and will be live on Sky Sports Main Event, Arena and Mix.

Castleford Tigers

Unsurprisingly, based on their recent form, Daryl Powell hasn’t made many changes to his squad going into this game. In fact, he’s made just one. Paul McShane drops out with an abdominal injury but the good news for Castleford is the return of captain Michael Shenton from injury.

21-man squad: 1 Niall Evalds, 2 Derrell Olpherts, 3 Peter Mata’utia, 4 Michael Shenton, 7 Danny Richardson, 8 Liam Watts, 10 Grant Millington, 11 Oliver Holmes, 12 Cheyse Blair, 13 Adam Milner, 14 Nathan Massey, 15 George Griffin, 17 Alex Foster, 19 Tyla Hepi, 21 Jesse Sene-Lefao, 22 Daniel Smith, 23 Greg Eden, 24 Suaia Matagi, 25 Jordan Turner, 31 Gareth O’Brien, 33 Jason Qareqare.

Wigan Warriors

After just naming a 19-man squad ahead of their clash with Leeds, Adrian Lam has added two new names into his squad. Youngsters Sam Halsall and Brad O’Neill add further depth to Lam’s options as he looks for a way to revitalise his Wigan side. Concerningly, Sam Powell is still unavailable after a head injury against Hull KR.

21-man squad: 3 Zak Hardaker, 4 Oliver Gildart, 5 Liam Marshall, 6 Jai Field, 8 Brad Singleton, 10 Joe Bullock, 12 Liam Farrell, 13 John Bateman, 14 Oliver Partington, 15 Morgan Smithies, 19 Liam Byrne, 20 Harry Smith, 21 Ethan Havard, 22 Jake Bibby, 23 Mitch Clark, 25 Joe Shorrocks, 27 Kai Pearce-Paul, 28 Sam Halsall, 31 Jackson Hastings, 33 Amir Bourouh, 34 Brad O’Neill.
