Castleford v Salford: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Salford shocked the league last week with a win over Hull FC. The victory undoubtedly impacted the play-off race and if they can repeat the feat against Castleford, the cat will truly be amongst the pigeons.

Going into today’s game, Daryl Powell’s main problem is in the halves. Danny Richardson’s head injury leaves a hole in the Tigers’ side meaning Powell has two options. He can either move Jordan Turner into the halves and draft James Clare onto the wing or he can start Paul McShane at seven as he returns from injury leaving Adam Milner at hooker. There’s also a problem to solve in the front row thanks to Liam Watts’ suspension. Could George Griffin move into the starting 13?

The old saying goes, ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ and despite Kevin Brown’s return to fitness, I believe Richard Marshall will apply this logic to his selection keeping together the same side who put 40 points on Hull FC. This means, Ata Hingano will line-up alongside Tui Lolohea in the halves whilst Joe Burgess keeps Rhys Williams out of the side by starting on the wing. There’s a couple of gaps in the pack due to the absence of Jack Ormondroyd meaning Danny Addy could come into the starting 13 at loose-forward.
