Castleford Tigers youngster makes Championship switch as Bradford Bulls man heads out on loan

Castleford Tigers

Championship side Batley Bulldogs have confirmed the signing of a Castleford Tigers youngster on a deal until the end of the season.

Young half-back Mitch Beedle has made the short move across West Yorkshire, as he looks for more senior minutes in the second tier.

A reserves regular, Beedle never made his Super League debut at Castleford, but has shown signs of promise in the development ranks.

He now joins James Ford’s side for the remainder of the season, and will hope to showcase that talent in the Championship.

Batley currently sit 11th in the table, having won five of their opening 11 matches.

Former Super League players Derrell Olpherts and Ben Reynolds are part of the squad, as is former Wiganer Josh Woods.

Beedle goes into contention for the club’s upcoming game against North Wales Crusaders, which will take place at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium on Sunday.

In other signing news, Salford RLFC have bolstered their squad ahead of this week’s trip to Halifax Panthers.

Following the news that St Helens pair George Whitby and Jacob Douglas would join the squad, Bulls prop Cameron Bate has also been brought in by Dave Hewitt’s side.

Also joining them is Castleford winger Daniel Sarbah, who joins the club for a second time this month after playing for them against Widnes in Round 13.
