Castleford Tigers without a number of stars for Hull FC fixture as Danny Richardson’s diagnosis is revealed
Castleford Tigers have revealed a major blow today with the news that Danny Richardson will be sidelined for 12 weeks.
Richardson fractured his neck in the Tigers’ opening day defeat to Salford Red Devils, and head coach Lee Radford has given the bad prognosis.
“I think Danny’s going to be 11 to 12 weeks,”Radford told Rugby League Live. “It’s pretty long-term.
“I know there’s a form of fracture in there and it’s eight weeks with a brace on.
“And, past that he’ll have to strengthen everything up around there.
“Round one it’s probably not the news that Danny or the club wanted, but it’s the cards we’ve been dealt.
“And, we’ll be even more reliant on Truey and Gaz O’Brien to grab the team by the horns.”
Radford will also be without a number of key men, though remained coy on who exactly.
But, Adam Milner will not take to the field in round four, with his back injury still causing him an issue.
“We’re still struggling with Adam,” Radford continued.
“He went to see the specialist yesterday – it’s just a guessing game.”
