Castleford Tigers v Hull FC teams as John Cartwright handed major fitness boost

Hull FC coach John Cartwright

John Cartwright and Danny McGuire have named their respective line-ups as Hull FC and Castleford Tigers go head to head at Wheldon Road this evening. The Black and Whites travel to West Yorkshire on a high having won three of their opening five Super League games and they’ll be looking to build on last week’s battling win over Wakefield Trinity.

Castleford, on the other hand, have struggled for much of the season so far and they’ll be looking to claim just their second win in all competitions tonight. McGuire was only able to name a 20-man squad with injuries biting, but fortunately has been able to name an unchanged back line to face Hull.

Judah Rimbu replaces Cain Robb in the starting line up with Robb moving to the bench, while Josh Hodson is the man selected to replace Jeremiah Simbiken in the back-row.

Joe Westerman gets the nod to start at loose-forward against his former club. Sylvester Namo and Liam Horne drop out of the fold, with Dan Okoro coming onto the bench.

The fitness of Cade Cust will come as a major boost to Cartwright, with the half-back managing to shake off the hip injury he picked up last week at Belle Vue. But Zak Hardaker and Jed Cartwright drop out of the fold through injury, while Liam Watts isn’t included against his former club, either.

Davy Litten steps into the backline on his return to the side, though, and Ed Chamberlain also gets the nod in the centres, with Logan Moy moving to the bench and Jordan Rapana starting in the number one role.

As expected, Brad Fash starts in the back-row after impressing in the role last week following Cartwright’s injury. Sam Eseh looks set to make his second debut for Hull after his loan spell with the club last season, while Will Kirby is named on the bench to provide back-row cover.
