Castleford Tigers will allow a fan the opportunity to play in one of their pre-season games in a true ‘once in a lifetime’ experience.
After announcing their pre-season friendly against Spanish side Valencia Huracanes, the club teased a ‘once in a lifetime fan experience’ when they launched the tickets.
Beyond their Director of Rugby stating: “We are working on some special moments for those that travel to see us, plus a once in a lifetime fan experience that we can’t wait to share”, the details were sparse.
However, the Tigers have now confirmed what the experience will be made up of and it’s fair to say that Castleford were not lying when they labelled it ‘once in a lifetime’.
In a new post on the club website, they’ve now revealed the details of the prize and how fans can win it with the biggest aspect of the experience being the ability to take to the field alongside the Castleford Tigers players and experience the game.
Castleford Tigers unveil incredible fan experience
Castleford will head to Spain for a week of warm weather training with the week culminating in a game against the Huracanes and fans have been encouraged to head along too.
The Tigers are selling ‘All Inclusive Fan Tickets’ which include a ticket to the match against the Spanish side, a coach transfer to and from Benidorm, entry to a Fan Forum prior to the game and the chance to win their ‘Once in a Lifetime fan experience’.
Those who purchase that ‘All Inclusive Fan Ticket’ and have purchased a season ticket prior to January 1st will have five tickets in the draw to win the fan experience.
A club statement has now confirmed what that entails.
It read: “The winner will be part of the first team squad for the match. Be part of the official match photography. They will warm up with the team, be part of the team talks, sit on the bench and run onto the pitch in full official Castleford Tigers kit for the final five minutes of the game.
“After the match, they will have their shirt signed by the players and managers and go down in Castleford fan legend.”
It’s certainly a unique prize that the club are offering as they try to incentivise fans to support them in the first game of the Danny McGuire era.
