Castleford Tigers have announced they will travel to face local neighbours Featherstone Rovers at The Millennium Stadium on New Year’s Eve (kick-off 12pm).
The midday match (Saturday 31st December) will be the first meeting between the two West Yorkshire rivals for four years, with both sides set to field a whole host of new signings.
Featherstone Rovers will not only have a new-look team, but also a new head coach in the shape of St Helens legend and former Leeds Rhinos assistant Sean Long.
The game will also see Junior Moors and Jesse Sene-Lefao face their former club, having left Castleford for Featherstone in recent seasons after becoming fan favourites at The Jungle.

Castleford have a host of new additions including Gareth Widdop, Jacob Miller and Albert Vete, with all three, along with Muizz Mustapha, potentailly making their debuts if selected by head coach Lee Radford.
Both clubs had a disappointing end to the 2022 season with Featherstone missing out on promotion after a surprise semi-final defeat to Batley Bulldogs, while Castleford finished seventh after losing a final round play-off decider against Leeds Rhinos.
Supporters of both clubs can purchase tickets for the game shortly through their respective team’s official websites.
