After losing Alex Mellor last week, Castleford Tigers have suffered another worrying blow ahead of the 2024 Super League season.
The Tigers lost new signing from Hull KR Rowan Milnes to an arm injury as he left the field during the friendly against London Broncos.
Milnes was forced to use his shirt as a makeshift sling as Castleford confirmed he had been withdrawn from the field through injuries.
There are also concerns for the Tigers over George Griffin and Joe Westerman whilst London had to sweat over try scorer and former Hull FC centre Hakim Miloudi but he was cleared to keep playing.
The most worrying injury was to Jordan Lane who was stretchered off for Hull FC against Doncaster after a head knock.
Castleford Tigers held by London Broncos
Castleford quickly took the lead, scoring the first try of the match only four minutes in. Sam Wood made the touchdown on his home debut after the team was awarded a Six Again under the posts. Danny Richardson then added the goal to make it 6-0 for Castleford.
Despite Castleford’s attempts to keep the pressure up, London Broncos scored next. From their first attack, Storey touched down after a kick by Meadows, making it 6-all.
Innes Senior scored twice for Castleford, each time helping to extend their lead. He beat his man for the first try and then received a lovely ball from Luke Hooley for the second. This took the score to 14-6 in favor of the Tigers at the break.
As Leyland returned to the pitch, he received a lovely offload and cut inside to score, making it 14-10. This brought the Broncos back into the game, with Liam Horne receiving a yellow card for a late hit.
London then scored again, with Hakim Miloudi making a successful debut try after a kick from Leyland. However, the conversion was missed, leaving the score level.
Despite a late chance to win the game, Castleford was unable to capitalize and the match ended in a draw.
