Castleford Tigers signing set for debut whilst star player could feature for the first time in 2022 as Radford names expanded squad

Castleford continue their pre-season preparations with a visit to Doncaster tomorrow.

Radford’s men started their pre-season off with a 32-10 win over York last Sunday in which new signings Jake Mamo, Bureta Faraimo and Alex Sutcliffe all impressed.

There’s a chance for even more new signings to make their Tigers debuts tomorrow with Joe Westerman included in Radford’s initial 23-man squad for the game at Doncaster but he will now be joined by fellow new recruit George Lawler having served his one-match ban as Radford expands his squad out to 31 players.

Jordan Turner has also been drafted into the squad and could be set for his first game of 2022 after a stellar 2021. Last season he floated between centre and wing and scored a number of tries and has since been awarded the number three shirt ahead of next season.

Meanwhile it has given a number of academy players the opportunity to feature with Jack Salder and Nathan Carter included fresh of being given the number 34 and 35 shirts yesterday whilst the likes of Freddie Brennan-Jones, Lewis Ransome and Tom Marris could all make their first senior appearance.
