Castleford Tigers sign talent to five-year deal in huge statement of intent

Castleford Tigers have made a huge statement of intent by re-signing one of their brightest stars to a new five-year deal.

Questions have been asked of the Tigers regarding their off-season recruitment with pundit Jon Wilkin recently labelling the Castleford squad as the worst in Super League, however, they’ve moved quick to ensure they keep their best talent.

The club have announced that full-back Fletcher Rooney has signed a five-year deal with the club after progressing through their youth systems.

Rooney was among the Tigers’ best performers in Round One as Castleford lost to Hull KR in golden point 19-18 with the young full-back dancing through to score the in the first half.

That try was arguably among the best in the round and was a clear sign of what is to come from the talented full-back and now Castleford Tigers have ensured those talents remain at the club for the next five years.
