February is a huge month for the Castleford Tigers as it will see the Tigers request permission to begin work on their stadium redevelopment.
This has long been in the pipeline and the Tigers are now determined to get it over the line.
The club are looking to secure permission for the following plan from Wakefield City Council:
“Full planning application for the redevelopment of existing stadium comprising demolition of existing main (east) stand and replacement with new all-seater stand with associated corporate hospitality and entertainment facilities along with new gym, club management facilities and offices, refurbished high ball skills and wrestling facility, provision of fan zone, installation of 4G training pitch with floodlighting, resurfacing of car park and circulation areas, selected refurbishment of Railway End (south stand) and refurbishment of Princess Street (west) and Wheldon Road (north) stands including replacement cladding and associated infrastructure, drainage, landscaping and engineering works. |Â Castleford Rugby League Football Club Wheldon Road Castleford WF10 2SD.”
Ahead of attempting to secure this major step towards redevelopment, the club had made a big move of their own.

According to Companies House, it would seem that Castleford Tigers have made a major move to secure planning permission or have tied some loose ends up ahead of applying for this planning permission.
This is because, as per an update from Companies House, new Director Martin Jepson is now down as the lender of Wheldon Road to the borrowers who are listed as the Castleford Tigers.
Companies House explains the following:
