Castleford Tigers reveal their exciting new match event experience

With fan engagement being one of the most critical avenues of club income, Super League sides have been doing all they can in recent months to maximise that following numerous pandemic lockdowns.

Hull KR began the Super League trend – albeit with a touch of the Toronto Wolfpack’s foundations back in Canada – creating Craven Streat with a number of entertainment tents, food stalls and alcohol sites at the back of one of their stands in a bid to drive up revenue.

Now, it’s Castleford Tigers’ turn to set up their own Fan Zone.

There will be live entertainment, with bands and a resident DJ performing before, at half-time and at full-time on the ‘Molson Coors Stage’ whilst gin, wine, prosecco, real ale and other beverages will be available for those interested.

Street vendors will also be present to hand the hardy fans something filling before heading onto the Jungle terraces to see Castleford take on the Salford Red Devils in the Tigers’ first game of the 2022 Super League season under the bright Friday lights.

Around the stadium fans will also come across stilt walkers, balloon modellers, face painters, and even fire breathers, with of course the main entertainment kicking off at 8pm as Lee Radford begins the new era down at the Jungle.

This kind of innovation is great, it attracts more fans and it attracts those fans to spend more money, filling the coffers of the club.

Don’t be surprised to see such ‘Fan Zones’ adopted by most Super League clubs sooner rather than later.
