Castleford Tigers have released a statement after reports circulated online regarding the future of Ryan Carr.
The head coach was rumoured to have been suspended pending an investigation, per LoveRugbyLeague, and whilst the statement doesn’t deny that fact, they don’t confirm it either.
Carr will “not be in attendance” when the club hosts Hull KR on Friday night, with Director of Rugby Chris Chester among three men set to oversee first team duties.
The former Robins and Wakefield boss will be helped by Rob Nikolay, the club’s Director of Pathways, and assistant coach Scott Murrell. Club legend and former Man of Steel Adrian Vowles will also help out.
The Tigers have put his absence down to personal reasons, with no timeline set for his return. The club will not make any further comment on the situation.

The statement reads in full:
“Castleford Tigers RLFC can confirm that Head Coach Ryan Carr will not be in attendance at the Hull KR game this coming Friday. We can confirm that this is due to personal reasons, contrary to the reports on social media.
“In the Interim, Chris Chester, Rob Nickolay and Scott Murrell will lead our on and off field operations. This leadership group will be heavily supported by Adrian Vowles and we thank Adrian for offering his support at short notice.
“We will not be making any other further comment at this stage, and we urge our fans to once again get behind our team this coming Friday.”
