Featherstone Rovers have signed Castleford Tigers forward Tyla Hepi.
The former Toulouse Olympique and Hull KR prop has found chances hard to come by at the Jungle under both Daryl Powell and now Lee Radford and so has moved back to the Championship in the hope of more game time.
In doing so, Hepi joins the likes of former Castleford Tigers stars Jesse Sene-Lefao and Junior Moors in Featherstone’s quest for Super League promotion.
Head coach Brian McDermott has been building a squad that is capable of beating all contenders in the second tier – even bitterest rivals Leigh Centurions who today added Australian international Blake Ferguson to their ranks in an incredible signing.
Meanwhile, Hepi has made 22 appearances for the Tigers since making the move from French side Toulouse back in 2020.
The forward, whose father Brad also played for Castleford in the Super League era, registered 109 appearances for Toulouse over the course of five seasons and has also had spells at Whitehaven and a loan spell at Gloucestershire All Golds whilst he was at Hull KR.
Hepi only played four times for Hull KR in 2013, but the 28-year-old arrives at the Millennium Stadium hungry for Championship success.
