Castleford Tigers loanee and York man James Clare receives ban for high tackle as another three players fall foul of disciplinary

Following the latest round of Betfred Championship matches, the following charges have been issued:

Brad Gallagher – Newcastle Thunder – Grade B Dangerous Contact – 1 Match Penalty Notice

Kenny Baker – Widnes Vikings – Grade B Dangerous Contact – 1 Match Penalty Notice

Tyler Dupree – Widnes Vikings – Grade A High Tackle – 0 Match Penalty Notice

James Clare – York City Knights – Grade B High Tackle 1 Match Penalty Notice

Luke Gale will also miss Hull FC’s next five games following last night’s independent tribunal hearing.

Gale was referred to tribunal by the Match Review Panel for a Grade D ‘high studs’ offence committed during last Saturday’s Betfred Super League match against St Helens. He also contested the panel’s grading (C) of a related offence – the lifting of an injured player – and the imposition of a three-match penalty notice.

Prior to the hearing, and with Match Review Panel approval, all parties agreed that there would be a single sanction covering both charges. Following pleas of mitigation from Gale and the club, the tribunal decided to impose a five-match suspension.
