Castleford Tigers’ kind gesture to Wigan Warriors yesterday

Yesterday there was nothing kind about Wigan’s second half performance at the Jungle.

After a sluggish start a week after their Challenge Cup Final win, the Warriors scored 32 points without reply, 28 of which came in the second half, to down the Tigers becoming only the third side in a decade to win their first league game after winning the cup.

Of course, the most important thing for Wigan to come back across the Pennines with was the two points to keep them in touch with St Helens at the top of the table and cemented in the top four but they also came back with something else: a congratulatory card from the Tigers.

Lee Briers, Wigan assistant coach, shared images of the card from the Tigers congratulating the Warriors on their 20th Challenge Cup Final win last week in what was a lovely, kind gesture from everyone at the Tigers.

A nice touch to add a little more to the celebrations at Wigan along with a great win for the Warriors as they continue to chase Super League glory to go along with the cup.

Speaking of those celebrations, Lee Briers opened up on them live on Sky Sports on Friday night ahead of Warrington vs Leeds and you can read what he said here.
