Castleford Tigers hit a superb 3500 season ticket members

Maybe the number 3500 season ticket holders for Castleford Tigers doesn’t surprise you, but here’s why it should.

Castleford has a population of just less than 45,000 according to a census taken in 2020 – the number 3,500 therefore means almost 8% of the townspeople have a season ticket.

Of course, that’s not how it works given that fans come from far and wide, but the 3,500 is a tremendous figure – and it proves that Castleford fans have well and truly bought into the new era at the Jungle under Lee Radford.

Former Hull FC head coach Radford made the move in the off-season after initially being signed up to American side Dallas Jackals.

However, the pull of Castleford proved too much and now the ex-Bradford and Hull prop is desperately trying to help the Tigers climb back into the play-offs after a two-year absence.

Among his new signings are Jake Mamo, Kenny Edwards and Alex Sutcliffe – further evidence that Radford and the club are investing in a side good enough to win silverware.

The 3,500 will surely enjoy a much more fruitful year in 2022 than in 2021, with positivity in abundance and I’m sure they cannot wait for the new season to start.
