Castleford Tigers suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Bradford Bulls in the Challenge Cup and the club’s fans have had their say.
Many neutrals viewed the game between last year’s Super League strugglers and the highly-touted Championship outfit as being a potential banana skin and it certainly proved that way.
Castleford Tigers were slow to start as Bradford took advantage of the wet and windy home conditions to race into an early lead and they rarely looked like ceding it.
The Tigers were punished for sloppy errors and had a lack of punch down the middle with one of their few good ball sets seeing Man of the Match Tom Holmes scoop Daejarn Asi’s kick and run 100 metres for the score to make it 17-0.
Despite the Super League outfit getting back into the game through two quick tries before the hour mark, Brian Noble’s side stuck to their task and ensured their lead was one converted try thanks to a James Meadows’ drop goal.
The Tigers scored that try in the 80th minute through Tex Hoy but he couldn’t convert meaning the Bulls march onto Round Four and serious questions are asked of Castleford.

Whilst some fans will be asking questions, plenty feel that they have already seen enough with over 200 fans responding on Serious About Rugby League’s Facebook page to give their verdict.
When trailing 17-0 at half-time, Martyn Ramsden posted: “Playing like that in Super League, we won’t win a game. Absolutely nothing for us.”
Despite the club showing more fight in the second 40, his opinion didn’t change as he said: “Well done Bradford. Castleford was a disgrace.”
“Cas. Long. Season.”, were the thoughts of James Collett with many others agreeing.
One of those was Danny Frankish who commented: “Great game to watch as a neutral, going to be a long season for Cas.”
Barry Deakin was harsher in his assessment, stating: “Cas won’t win a game all season. Worst Cas side I’ve ever seen.”
Paul Atha said: “I didn’t think we could get any worse than last season but here we are.”

AGREE CAS WERE VERY POOR ESPECIALLY IN FIRST HALF…AS FOR NOT WINNING A GAME,I DONT THINK SO,REMEMBER LAST YEARS WHIPPING BOYS STILL IN SUPERLEAGUE,SO EVERYBODY GUARANTEED FOUR POINTS OF HULL FC….GOOD LUCK CAS APART FROM WHEN YOU PLAY WIRES.
