Castleford Tigers man impressed by club’s fans already

Castleford Tigers have made a number of young signings for the new Super League season including ex-Hull KR Bailey Dawson who made his debut for the club against Featherstone Rovers on New Year’s Eve.

The club have clearly already had a big impact on him especially the fans as he had big praise for them following his debut:

“They were brilliant! I don’t know how many was there, but they definitely made some noise!”

His early love for the club was shown in how much he enjoyed his debut:

“I’m absolutely buzzing to have made my debut! I’ve been training hard and so have the other boys all pre-season. It was a tough old slog in that game, and all the fans that were here will know that as well, but I really enjoyed it. I think I’ve got some big positives from that game.

“We’ve been training on astroturf so it’s a little bit different to what we’re used to. Obviously, we get protected at training, but this was definitely a tough challenge.”

He was also impressed by his teammates on his debut:

“The young boys that have stepped up from Academy and Reserves, they didn’t look out of place at all. I think it was a tough test and they made themselves accountable definitely, so pat on the back to them. I think the older boys definitely helped too! They really helped us out, with their talk and the way they apply themselves. It was really good.”

“Everyone is together, there are no big egos. That’s the environment that Radders and Lasty have built around the club. Daniel Smith today, with Mahe and Bureta, they help us out and make everything feel comfortable so credit to them.”
