Castleford Tigers duo leave the field with bad-looking injuries

Castleford Tigers duo Kenny Edwards and Alex Sutcliffe have left the field tonight at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Edwards suffered a leg injury in the second-half with Alex Sutcliffe going off clutching his neck.

Sutcliffe looked in visible discomfort as he sat on the sidelines whilst Edwards wasn’t to reappear.

The number 7 suffered a neck injury in Castleford’s 26-16 loss to Salford Red Devils last Friday and head coach Lee Radford confirmed that he will play no part in tomorrow’s fixture against Warrington Wolves.

“We’re looking at it more in depth,” Radford told the Yorkshire Post.

“They have obviously found something and he’s still with the docs still trying to find a little bit more to see where it’s at.c

“It’s not looking great.”

The former Hull FC boss also stressed that the club didn’t know how long the halfback would be out for.

Radford added: “It happened in the second half and it was a poor tackle technique.

“He copped one when he put his head in the wrong place which happens in this sport, unfortunately.”

However, Radford revealed to Sky Sports tonight that Richardson has suffered a fracture in his neck.

Sky Sports pundit Jenna Brooks tweeted: “Lee Radford just confirmed Danny Richardson has a fracture in his neck. He didn’t specify how long he will be sidelined @SkySportsRL.”
