Castleford Tigers today announced that veteran forward Nathan Massey would be rewarded with a testimonial game against Huddersfield Giants on 5th February.
The club have now confirmed that this will be the last of four pre-season friendlies.
Their pre-season fixtures start with a derby against Sean Long’s Featherstone Rovers on the last day of the year on the 31st December.
Kick-off will be 12:00 at Post Office Road as Long’s new era begins as Lee Radford gets a first look at his 2023 squad.
Then on the 22nd January, Castleford meet Keighley Cougars who were immense in the Betfred League 1 campaign earning promotion and have some major signings in their 2023 squad such as Ben Crooks from Hull KR.
A week later it’s a trip to Whitehaven on the 29th January. Both these fixtures kick off at 15:00.
Their one and only home friendly is the clash against Huddersfield on 5th February which kicks off at 15:30.
Radford is looking for a good start in this game against their Super League rivals telling the club website: “Massey has been at the club a long time and I think he has maximised his ability to get him to where he is today and having the career that he has had. We’re looking forward to celebrating him and what he’s done for this club.
“This will be a tough challenge and a good start and great preparation for the Super League campaign.”
