Castleford Tigers boss Lee Radford has his say on Kenny Edwards future following link to a move elsewhere

Kenny Edwards has become one of Castleford Tigers’ most potent threats out wide in 2022 so far.

Having joined Lee Radford in his Castleford rebuild at the start of the season on a year’s loan from Huddersfield Giants, the second-rower has become a cult hero at the Jungle.

It’s perhaps not a surprise, therefore, that Edwards has now been linked with a move away, with The Mole at the Wide World of Sports reporting that the former Parramatta Eels star is being mooted for a return there.

However, Radford is keen to throw cold water on any possible move.

“No, we will have to watch this space,” Radford joked to BBC Radio Leeds.

“It’s the different ones that make me laugh, one says he’s going the others say he is staying and you will have to find the truth somewhere in the middle.

“At this time of the year there is a lot of rumours and a lot of it is spread by social media and snippets here and there with forums.”

Radford also emphasised that this time of year is difficult for those players needing to find a club for the future.

“This time of the year can be challenging for players if they are waiting for a deal that can sometimes derail a few blokes.

“The management of those off contract players is important at this time of year.”

Edwards impressed yet again at the weekend as Castleford went down 32-12 to Wigan Warriors at the Jungle.
