Castleford Tigers boss Lee Radford gives update on Gareth O’Brien, Greg Eden and Joe Westerman as he has say on George Lawler ban

Castleford Tigers head coach Lee Radford has given an update on a number of his stars following knocks picked up against Toulouse Olympique last weekend.

Gareth O’Brien, Greg Eden and Joe Westerman will be back in contention for the Tigers after the trio left the field early in their 32-6 win over the French side.

Daniel Smith is also ready for a recall after missing the Toulouse game, Castleford boss Lee Radford confirmed

“We’ve got a clean bill of health,” Radford told BBC Radio Leeds.

“Dan Smith is back in contention as well.”

Radford will have to make do without in-form forward George Lawler who was handed a three-match ban for a dangerous throw in that win over Toulouse last week.

The former Hull boss was keen to stress that he had no problem with the ban, but that he wanted more consistency surrounding the disciplinary issue.

“I can accept the ban, I just look for consistency,” he continued.

“I’ve seen some others that have not been punished as heavily, that’s my only frustration.”

Castleford travel to Hull KR this Friday night for the Challenge Cup Quarter-Final with a potential Semi-Final taking place on Saturday 7 May.
