Castleford Tigers boss Lee Radford comments on speculation linking with Leeds Rhinos duo

Castleford Tigers have been linked with a number of players for the 2023 Super League season.

Some of those include Warrington Wolves halfback and Wakefield Trinity playmaker Jacob Miller, whilst Leeds Rhinos pair Alex Mellor and Jack Broadbent have also been claimed to have signed on at the Jungle.

However, despite praising the pair, head coach Lee Radford did not want to get drawn into that speculation.

“Both are tidy players, right age bracket,” Radford said.

“But, at present they are obviously Leeds players and I think it would be wrong of me to comment on anybody who hasn’t been announced, or they haven’t announced where they are going.

“Even players that are with me, I wouldn’t want other clubs commenting on them.”

When asked if he was happy with how recruitment and retention was going for 2023, Radford replied: “I’m happy with how that is going.

“We are not completely signed off on it yet – I think bringing in what’s available at that time is the cards you are dealt with but trying to freshen the place up is what’s important.”

The likes of Greg Eden, Derrell Olpherts, James Clare and Sosaia Feki are all out of contract at the end of the season, but Radford seems determined to shake things after a mediocre season so far.
