Castleford Tigers have announced the immediate departures of nine players following the conclusion of the 2024 Super League season.
Craig Lingard’s first Super League campaign ultimately ended in disappointment, finishing 10th in the league, only ahead of Hull FC and London Broncos, who had six points each.
A number of new signings were made ahead of the current season, including quota players Elie El-Zakhem, Nixon Putt and Sylvester Namo.
Albert Vete being released for Tex Hoy’s arrival and Charbel Tasipale being allowed to leave due to personal reasons meant there were already a number of changes to the quota spots from the start of this year.
Now, it has been confirmed that there will be even more changes for the Tigers.

The club have confirmed that Jacob Miller is one of nine departures ahead of the 2025 season, after a disappointing season for the half-back, whose contract has therefore been cut short – alongside that of Elie El-Zakhem, another quota player.
We already knew that Paul McShane was retiring and that Corey Hall would head to Wakefield Trinity next year, but now we also know that Daniel Hindmarsh-Takyi, Brad Martin, Luis Johnson, Samy Kibula and Nixon Putt will also be leaving the club.
The Tigers now have plenty of quota space and salary cap space, you would imagine, for a number of new signings for 2025.
In the statement, “We have an exciting couple of months ahead as we continue to look into the market. Us as a club have a couple of signings confirmed and we can’t wait to share these with you in the coming weeks.”
It’s widely expected that one of those new signings will be PNG hooker Judah Rimbu – with the club’s Twitter fuelling these suggestions with a post today.
