Castleford Tigers have confirmed the signing of Hull FC back-rower Jordan Lane as they prepare for the 2026 Super League season. Lane has penned a four-year deal at Wheldon Road and that secures his future during what might be considered his peak his as a player.
Lane broke through the academy at ranks at Hull before making his Super League debut back in 2018 under the stewardship of Lee Radford. Since then he has made 161 appearances for his hometown club, nailing down a spot in the club’s back-row for several seasons.
The move comes on the back of what has been an injury disrupted season, with Lane breaking his arm in the Hull derby earlier this year. But, he’s fit now and he’ll be determined to leave John Cartwright’s side into the play-offs to end his time with the Black and Whites on a high.
Lane is one of several signings Castleford have announced so far this season, with Brock Greacen, Blake Taafe, Mikaele Ravalawa and Semi Valemei all secured from down under and the back-rower is expected to be joined in West Yorkshire by his current Hull teammate Jack Ashworth.
Jordan Lane joins Castleford Tigers
“I’m really excited to be joining Cas next year, especially with the appointment of Ryan Carr,” Lane told the Castleford website. “The club have made some great signings for next year and I can’t wait to get down and see what we can achieve as a collective.”
Speaking to Hull’s club media on his exit, Lane added: “It was a tough decision when it came to deciding about moving on next season, but ultimately I feel like this is the best move for me at this stage of my career.
“I’m almost 28 now and a move away from Hull will help me test myself in a different environment during the next stage of my career, and I’m looking forward to a fresh challenge.

“Obviously this move has been done for a long time, but my focus has always been on this club, and will remain so while I’m here.”
Chris Chester has promised big changes at Castleford over the off-season and this is just the latest signing with more still to come.
“I’m delighted with the signing of Jordan Lane,” Chester said. “Jordan is a player I have admired for a long time. He’s a high-energy player who leads with his actions on the field and is also a very good leader off it.
“This is something we have maybe lacked over the last few years, and I’m expecting Jordan to really help drive the standards for this club over the next four years.”
