Castleford Tigers announce exciting development in plans to redevelop stadium

It’s exciting times for Castleford on the field.

Lee Radford’s side have won the last two against two teams in the top four. On Friday night they battered Huddersfield having edged Catalans 17-16 at home last week. That result has been made all the more impressive today following the Dragons’ win over Champions St Helens.

So, excitement about what’s taking place on the field, there should also be excitement about what is taking place off field with the Tigers, like rivals Wakefield Trinity, set for a stadium redevelopment project after being given money from the council.

Tomorrow marks a big day for Wakefield in their project as it will be the last game in front of the current East Stand which will be taken down this week.

The coming week is also big for Castleford’s plans with the Tigers today announcing a “Meet the Developers” evening at the Jungle on Thursday 7th July from 7pm.

Entry is free and representatives of the developers Axiom will be present alongside others for fans to meet them and give them their thoughts ahead of planning being submitted on August 1st.

Returning to matters on the field, it will be a big week for the Tigers with a blockbuster West Yorkshire derby against Leeds waiting for them at the Magic Weekend.

Today the Rhinos defeated Hull FC 62-16 so will be in confident mood. It will be a key game for both sides’ play-off hopes and the Tigers may be without Jake Trueman and Paul McShane.
