Castleford Tigers and Lee Radford rocked by damning Niall Evalds news

Castleford Tigers have been rocked by injury news to their star fullback Niall Evalds.

Evalds left the field against Warrington Wolves in serious discomfort after dislocating his shoulder.

And, now head coach Lee Radford has revealed that Evalds could be out for the rest of the season.

“I think it would be an absolute push for him to make the play-offs, but I think his season is pretty much done,” Radford told BBC Radio Leeds.

“It is just another uppercut after the one two weeks prior with Rocky (Ryan Hampshire) and the week prior with Truey (Jake Trueman).

“Injuries seem to be coming thick and fast at the moment, but Niall is a really big player for us and the try he scored epitomises his game. It is disappointing for us.”

Meanwhile, Hull FC go up against Castleford Tigers this Friday night in what will be one of the most highly anticipated clashes of the Super League calendar in 2022 so far.

It will see Castleford boss Lee Radford go up against his former side at the MKM Stadium for the first time after his departure, with the Tigers in a buoyant mood following their 35-22 win over Warrington Wolves last weekend.

The same, however, cannot be said of Hull who fell to a 60-0 hammering by the Wigan Warriors in dire circumstances.
