Castleford Tigers announced the departures of nine players following the conclusion of the 2024 Super League season.

Craig Lingard’s first Super League campaign ultimately ended in disappointment, finishing 10th in the league, only ahead of Hull FC and London Broncos, who had six points each.

A number of new signings were made ahead of the current season, including quota players Elie El-Zakhem, Nixon Putt and Sylvester Namo.

The club confirmed that Jacob Miller was one of nine departures ahead of the 2025 season, after a disappointing season for the half-back, whose contract has therefore been cut short – alongside that of Elie El-Zakhem, another quota player, who left due to personal reasons.

Jacob Miller looks to the side. He's got the new black Castleford Tigers shirt on - it's a bit cut off at the bottom, but you aren't missing anything, as the design is all at the top: the shoulders are amber, in a chevron style downward-arrow shape. Below the badge, OXEN logo and Yorkshire Pride logo, the same shape is almost continued, with a thin downward-arrow shape there, too. The CBR Engineering logo is below that. I really hope I've explained okay that for you.

Former captain and modern-day club legend Paul McShane has moved to York City Knights in the RFL Championship after a tough time with injuries, and departs the club having made over 200 appearances, winning 2020 Man of Steel and being a key part of the famous 2017 squad.

Corey Hall, meanwhile, has headed to rivals Wakefield Trinity, after signing as part of a swap deal that saw Jack Broadbent head to Hull KR.

Another player staying in Super League is Brad Martin who has signed for Leigh Leopards.

Elie El-Zakhem made headlines after training with North Queensland Cowboys, but the former quota spot-holding Tiger has joined the Mackay Cutters in the Queensland Cup after just a year in the Northern Hemisphere.

Samy Kibula has returned to Batley Bulldogs, the club he spent 2023 with, after departing Bradford Bulls. He has also spent time with Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves.

Daniel Hindmarsh-Takyi, who was signed from Queensland side Northern Pride, is yet to find a new destination – as is the case with fellow forward Nixon Putt, who also joined from Queensland and is a former Papua New Guinea international.

Jacob Miller is another player that held a quota spot, but the half hasn’t found a new home yet, despite earlier suggestions that he may join Huddersfield Giants.

Also yet to find a new team is Luis Johnson, whose return to the side that offered him a scholarship at 15 only lasted a solitary season.
