Castleford star explains shock Jacques O’Neill decision

Jacques O’Neill is back in Super League and back with his former club the Castleford Tigers.

The Tigers sent fans into a frenzy last month when they tweeted a shirt with O’Neill’s name printed on the back of it and the caption: “He’s coming home.”

They then went on to announce his return properly to a stunned reaction..

O’Neill dropped a bombshell on the rugby league world when he left Castleford to try his hand at reality TV show Love Island.

It initially went well for the former hooker and he was one of the favourites to win until he dropped out of the show.

Since then, O’Neill has done a lot to promote mental health and the like and has also helped promote Super League appearing on the likes of Sky Sports as a pundit.

But the big question has always been, will he return to rugby league? The answer is right now.

But why has he made the change?

Well the comments from Greg Eden on the Fully Game YouTube channel explains his decision:

“I don’t think he’s too happy,” he said before the news came out, “I think he wants to be in a team environment kind of thing but his mind changes every day.

“If you’re by your own you can fall off the cliff but with a group of mates keeping themselves disciplined it helps.”
