Castleford forward set to join Super League rivals with immediate effect

Andy Last has confirmed that Castleford Tigers loose-forward and hooker Adam Milner is set to leave the club with immediate effect.

The veteran at the Jungle is headed to Huddersfield Giants.

On this Last said to BBC Radio Leeds: “He’s potentially on the move, that has been talked about a lot in terms of the press, that hasn’t been finalised but that is why he’s not playing for at the weekend.”

Last also confirmed that it would be with immediate effect:

“Um, yes, potentially with immediate effect just got to dot the Is and cross the Ts for both clubs.”

He also paid tribute to him as he explained why he is leaving:

“Definitely. Three weeks ago he made it to 300 games for Castleford Tigers against Leigh Leopards.

“He is on 301 now. He has great respect for the club and represented the club with great distinction and played with great desire but made the decision that he felt was in his best interest at Huddersfield, there is an opportunity for him this year and next year and we weren’t in a position to guarantee him for next year and they were.

“So hopefully that gets finalised and we will wish him the best and say our goodbyes.”
