Castleford investigating crowd trouble

Castleford crowd trouble

Castleford Tigers have released a statement saying they are to investigate crowd trouble at last night’s game against Salford Red Devils.

The disturbances are thought to be among a small minority of fans from both clubs.

Salford are currently under investigation from the RFL after referee James Child was hit by a missile during their home match against Leeds last Sunday.

Castleford’s club statement reads: “Castleford Tigers are aware of some crowd trouble at last nights game v Salford Red Devils including a very small minority of fans.

“In the coming days we will be checking our CCTV footage and identifying the people involved. We are working closely with the Salford Red Devils to bring this incident to a swift conclusion, which will involve informing the police, and issuing lifetime bans to those involved. This is not a statement our club make lightly, but we will not have our reputation as a family club tarnished by these mindless acts of hooliganism.”
