Cas tie down another forward as Radford’s rebuild continues

Castleford Tigers’ Tyla Hepi has signed a new deal, according to Rugby League Live.

Incoming Castleford boss Lee Radford has already tied down a number of players, including Adam Milner and Nathan Massey, whilst new signings such as Jake Mamo, Joe Westerman and Bureta Faraimo are set to walk through the doors ahead of the 2022 season.

Hepi began his career at Hull KR before moving around the country with Gloucestershire All Golds and Whitehaven and then settling in France with Toulouse.

The uncompromising forward made over 100 appearances for the French side, performances which brought him on the radar of current Tigers boss Daryl Powell who brought him to the Jungle in 2020.

Hepi has made eight appearances so far for Castleford in 2021, with opportunities coming thick and fast due to injury and COVID problems at the Jungle.

The length of the 28-year-old’s deal is not yet known, but he is set to stay at Castleford for the near future at least.
