Salford Red Devils winger Justin Carney has been banned for two matches and fined £300 after he was found guilty of Grade C contact with a Match official.
The incident occurred during Thursday’s Super League clash against Huddersfield Giants when the 26-year-old came into contact with referee James Child.
As a result Carney, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, will miss Friday’s Super League clash against Leeds Rhinos and next week’s game against Warrington Wolves.
Elsewhere, Leeds Rhinos second-rower Jamie Jones-Buchanan escaped suspension but received a £300 fine for Dangerous Contact on Leigh’s Adam Higson.
