It was announced today that Wigan Warriors would be heading into a new era, with Matt Peet taking over as head coach, with Lee Briers and Sean O’Loughlin as the assistants.
Shaun Wane also returned in a leadership role as the club held a press conference to announce the new roles. But, just how did social media react?
One Wigan fan believed it couldn’t get much worse than the previous coaching group!
No point complaining. Can’t possibly be worse than Lam and Winder. Im backing them 🍒⚪️

Another supporter believed it could be a “good combination”.
Well the worst kept secret of the year is finally out. Congratulations to all on your newly appointed roles. I'm sure Matt will have a lot to prove, Briers and Lockers could be a good combination and with Wane helping to steer the ship, I'm OK with that.🍒⚪

That sentiment was echoed by another Wigan fan.
This could work under leadership of Wane and especially if Briers and Lockers have their input

Another couldn’t wait for Wane to get stuck in.

One supporter questioned the need for two assistant coaches.
2 assistant coaches? Weird one that.

The Westlife theme came through strong.
Frigging hell, Westlife have let themselves go.
