Bureta Faraimo reacts to Castleford debut as Adam Milner gives injury update

Castleford Tigers ran out 32-10 winners against the York City Knights in yesterday’s friendly in what was both sides’ first run out in 2022.

The Tigers boasted the likes of Jake Mamo and Bureta Faraimo in their new look side against the Knights who were eager to test themselves against Super League opposition ahead of a big season in the Championship.

Faraimo himself scored twice in an impressive first-half showing that had the Tigers running out 26-0 leaders by half-time.

And, the hulking winger – who recently moved from Hull FC to be reunited with head coach Lee Radford – had his say on his debut.

Faraimo posted on social media giant Instagram: “First hit out with my new club @ctrlfc. Super greatful and excited for this upcoming season.”

Adam Milner, meanwhile, who captained the side in the absence of hooker Paul McShane, limped off shortly into the game with what was later confirmed to be a back problem.

However, the loose-forward tweeted that it wasn’t anything serious.

Milner said: “Honoured to lead boys out today, sadly it was short lived after tweaking my back early on. Great start for us nonetheless.”
